HILL STATIONS


Hill-stations like Ukhrul, Tamenglong, Tengnoupal, Mao and Senapati provide fascinating vistas of Manipur fabled natural beauty.

Ukhrul:

It is the head quarter of Ukhrul District which is 83 Kms away from Imphal City. It is situated on the North Eastern side of Imphal valley and is famous for a land of peculiar type of terrestrial flower called Siroy Lily (Lilium macklinae sealy). It is an ideal hill station for those looking for some fresh air and solitude. It has great natural landscape beauty and is rich in flora and fauna. The scenic beauty and cool, pleasant climate make Ukhrul, a beautiful hill station for the tourists. Khangkhui Lime Caves are situated in this district.

Tengnoupal:

It is situated on the way to Moreh town which is about 69 Kms away from Imphal City. Full view of the Imphal Valley can be seen from the hill-top of this place.

Tamenglong:

It is 156 Kms away from Imphal – known for its waterfalls, deep gorges and exotic orchids. It is the head quarter of Tamenglong District.

Mao

It is one of the important hill stations of Manipur situated on the Imphal Kohima Road with great natural landscape beauty and is rich in flora and fauna. The scenic beauty and cool, pleasant climate made the place a pleasant stay. One may find varieties of fresh vegetables and fruits produced from hill villages in and around Mao.
